Check in started at 7.45 with James for 60 golfers (30 pairs) competing in the 8th tournament. The weather was cloudy and dull and after a few holes it started to drizzle, but by the time we were around to the half way bar, the rain had just about stopped and the sun toward the end of everyone's round made an appearance. The halfway bar, with Rosemary's traditional sausage rolls, was well used and a big thank you this year to Debbie and James for all their help.
Everyone assembled at 19.00 for a Cava reception followed by the Gala Dinner/Presentation. A three course meal was served and a copious amount of wine consumed for which we heartily thank ALMERIMAR HOTEL and particularly the STAFF who served us.
Presentations commenced once again with Nina Taylor, who calculated an eclectic competition based upon 9 holes of the White course. 1st for the Gentlemen Gross Competition was Sune Jönsson and for the Ladies Gerardine Ryan and 1st for the Gentlemen Nett Competition was Paul Miles and for the Ladies Uli Dahlbudding. Unfortunately, Gerardine was not present on the evening and will be presented her trophy at a later date.
This was followed by the presentation for the main competition and PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
The Player of the Year has two categories and this year Category 1 was for handicaps 20.9 and below and Category 2, handicaps 21 and above:

Following the formalities it was time to dance once again to the wonderful duo of Scalamusic, which some people did with great enthusiasm and everyone had a thoroughly good time.
