22 people journeyed to Aguilas to play Aguilón golf course. On arrival everyone was very impressed with the chosen hotel which overlooked the sea, beach and small marina in Aguilas.

 

A competition was played over 2 days, Monday and Tuesday and the weather was very kind to us, with Tuesday in particular being very warm and sunny.

 

Aguilón course proved to be in good condition, but very tricky. There were quite a few barrancos to be negotiated, both off the tees and in the fairways and then when you eventually!! arrived at the greens, many were undulating and presented a real challenge.

 

Needless to say, the first day scores were pretty low, no one returned 30 points but the second day Tuesday, saw an improvement with 3 people managing 30 or more points. Over the 2 days Steve Bradbury proved to be the most resilient and won, Dot Prior was second and Kelly Naylor third. All results can be seen under Special Events/Away days/Aguilas/Aguilón.

 

Overall the 3 days  was a resounding success and culminated with everyone enjoying the celebration of Kristina Olsson's birthday.
