WHAT A GREAT DAY
Despite the early 08.00 start all of the 68 players managed to tee off on time. The weather was excellent and despite the temptation of a "little beverage"along with Rosemary and Debbie's sausage rolls at the halfway bar, there was good golf played, as can be seen from the scores in the results section.
In the evening everyone assembled in the golf bar for the Gala Dinner and Presentation and were treated to an excellent meal with superb service from the Almerimar hotel staff.
During the meal a presentation took place for Golfers Inernational Almerimar, PLAYER OF THE YEAR, which for 2016/2017 was won by Michelle O'Keeffe.
Following dinner the presentation of prizes to the successful pairs (see results section) took place.
Most deserved and greatful thanks were given to Bobby Cuddy and Drew McDowell for their sponsorship over the past 4 and 3 years respectively.
New sponsors for next years tournament were announced as John Flynn and Peter Watts.
Formalities completed there was dancing to the excellent music of Duo La Scala.
