GREENSOMES FORMAT (Scoring is normal stableford)

 

Each pair drives own ball off tee. The favoured drive is then chosen. If for example the ladies ball is chosen, the man will play the next shot (you are now only playing ONE BALL). You now play alternate shots until the hole is completed.
 

IN THE EVENT that one ball is out of bounds(OB) or lost, the ball in play must be played.
 

IN THE EVENT that you think both balls are OB or lost from drive, you should play provisional balls. If you find one of your balls you will play it. However if both balls are OB or lost, choose the best of the provisional balls and continue, but incur 1 penalty shot, so the next shot played will be the 4th.

In the event one ball goes in the water you MUST play the ball in play.
 

IN THE EVENT both balls go in water, play from the position THE FIRST ball crossed the hazard, but incur 1 penalty shot.

ie. IF YOU DO NOT TAKE A PROVISIONAL BALL DROP BACK WITHIN 2 CLUB LENGTHS ON FAIRWAY – 2 SHOT PENALTY

 

In addition all normal rules of golf apply.

Handicap calculation for this 9 is: 0.6 x LOWER HANDICAP + 0.4 x HIGHER HANDICAP (USING MASTERS HANDICAPS), WHICH IS THEN HALVED AS YOU ONLY PLAY 9 HOLES OF THIS FORMAT.
 

Example

Player A has a handicap of 12 and Player B has a handicap of 24

Thus:
12 x 0.6 =    7.2

24 x 0.4 =   9.6

Total      = 16.8

Halved =   8.4

Your joint pairs handicap is 8 shots for the 9 holes

BETTERBALL FORMAT
 

The best score of the pair is the only one that counts.

 

Example

Player A scores 3 points and Player B scores 2 points, the only score to count is Player A who has 3 points.
 

Handicap calculation for this 9 is Blue & White courses sloped handicap halved.
