Rain was forecast for the final Monday golf day of the season. Fortunately it only lasted for a couple of holes so most people managed to complete their round. Best scores of the day were returned by Michelle Flynn 32 points, Larry Rowe 33 points, Mel Moody 34 points and a very creditable 36points by Rosemary Moody.
Puri had promised "something special"in Algarbe for our last visit until September. She was true to her word,drinks were accompanied by excellent tapas, all of the ladies were presented with "flowering Lilies" and cava was served to everyone.
This special occasion prompted Peter Edgington to lead everyone into a" sinq song down memory lane", everyone joined in, when they could remember the words!!! A great time was had by all and will probably be remembered for quite a while.
As for the competion, Mel Moody drove to within 7m to win nearest pin prize and following the surprise draw Lee Goulder joined Larry for 3rd prize, Michelle and Marion van Dongen claimed 2nd prize and Rosemary was joined by "Foxy", Brian Downey for 1st prize.
Mel and Rosemary wished everyone a lovely summer with heartfelt thanks to ALL OF THE 120+ OF YOU who have supported Monday golf, and look forward to seeing all of you again from September onwards
