A lovely golfing day greeted the 45 players on the Classic, followed by front 9 of Masters. It was sunny with very little wind and whilst the courses are still playing a little long, overall conditions are certainly improving and scores were reflected accordingly. Eleven players scored 30 or more points with 5 players bettering their handicaps and will receive cuts.
Best of the day, Jim Connelly 41 points, Doug Kemp 39 points,Dan Grönskog 38 points Lennart Olsson and Larry Rowe 37 points (Lennart had a better back 9) and in the prizes Mimmo Pettinicchio 35 points.
Afterwards drinks and tapas were taken at Algarbe, following which the prize presentation took place.
Nearest the pin prize was awarded to Rolf Jönegård for a shot to 5m 40cm
For the main competition, Mimmo was joined for 5th prize by Nick Quine, Lennart and Lee Goulder 4th prize, Larry and Keith Richards received 3rd prize. Brian Downey joined Dan for 2nd with 1st prize being awarded to Doug and Roisin Andrews.
