StartFragment

It was a lovely golfing day for our final outing of 2016. Cloudy to begin with but warm with virtually no wind.

As it was our Christmas tournament, we played a somewhat different competition from the forward tees on the Masters course. The 34 players only being allowed to use 3 clubs plus a putter!!!

Some people had never played this format before and were surprised to find how well they managed, to the point where there were several comments, "why do we need 14 clubs in our bag"!!! Certainly the scores reflected the same, with well over half of the golfers returning 30 or more points.

Afterwards in Algarbe, Puri excelled herself by serving a copious variety of food and drink, following which the prize presentation took place.

This week there were both ladies and gents prizes.

Nearest the pin for ladies was awarded to Nina Taylor for her third shot on 10th hole to 10cm.

For the gentlemen, Robbie MacMillan placed his second shot on 15th to 65cm from the hole.

In the main competition for the ladies prizes were awarded to,

Marianne Liljedahl 35 points (better back 9)

Nina Taylor 35 points

Ingrid Hokfelt 33 points (better back 9)

Joan Edgington 33 points

Maya Alm 32 points (better back 9 than Michelle O'Keefe 32 points)

Gentlemen

Doug Kemp 42 points

Robbie MacMillan 39 points

Paul Miles 36 points (better back 9)

Stefan Hokfelt 36 points (better back 6)

Adrian Gracey 36 points

Our next competition will be January 9 2017.

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL .
