What a great day for golf! 52 players, turned up in Christmas hats and outfits to play a 3 club + putter Christmas scramble at Almerimar on Wednesday and just to make it more interesting and add a little festive fun we all played from the forward tees. What a difference that made! We were all playing from places we had never been before! We played in teams of 4 with the best 2 scores to count on each hole. Although we had an early start the sun shone all day. A fantastic halfway house was waiting for us after the first 9 holes, complete with mince pies and thankfully it was still there after 18 holes for everyone to exchange a bit of banter and to have a little drink before going home to prepare for our celebration dinner at Resaurante El Espigon.
At 19.30 the evening began with cava being served, followed by plenty of food and wine. After the results and everyone had received their prizes and chosen a gift from the Secret Santa table we put on our dancing shoes and danced the night away.
There was a special prize for the best Christmas outfit on the golf course. Well done to Rudolph and Maria. You looked fantastic.
Frank R won nearest the pin for men on hole 2 of the blue course with 4.31m and Nina won nearest the pin for ladies on hole 8 of the blue course with 2.1m.
On hole 6 of the white course a rope was stretched down the centre of the fairway before play began. The straightest drives, or nearest the rope, were won my Paul M for the men and Yvonne for the ladies.
Congratulations to Pepe, Sissi, Uli and Frank R for winning the competition with 104 points.

We would like to say a big thank you to all who took part and to those that helped us on the day, especially Wendy, Debbie, Marion and Rosemary. Everyone added to the success of the evening and made our lives a lot easier.
